Why MIHAS 2025 is a Must-Attend Event?

For more than two decades, the Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) has been a meeting point for businesses, investors, policymakers, and innovators shaping the global Halal economy. What began in 2004 with a modest number of exhibitors has become the largest Halal trade event of its kind. Every year, Malaysia draws thousands of participants from across the world to participate in a thriving hub for Halal business.

This year too, MIHAS 2025 is opening its doors from 17–20 September 2025 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) and here’s why this year’s showcase is worth your time. Whether you are an established Halal brand, a buyer looking for trusted suppliers, or a newcomer curious about the opportunities within this rapidly growing market, MIHAS 2025 is a must-attend event for you!

Scale that opens doors

MIHAS is more than just a trade fair. It is a platform where business translates into tangible results. In 2024, the showcase attracted over 43,000 visitors and generated RM4.3 billion in trade value. This momentum is set to continue in 2025, with projections indicating an even greater turnout of 45,000 visitors, RM 4.5 billion in sales potential, 45 country pavilions, 1,700 exhibitors and 2,380 booths.

These numbers matter because they create a multiplier effect. More exhibitors mean more products to explore. More visitors mean broader networking opportunities. More pavilions mean that you can connect not just with Malaysia’s Halal ecosystem, but with entire regions that are represented under one roof.

A global community of Halal trade

The halal economy has grown from a niche market into a global system spanning food, fashion, finance, logistics, healthcare and tourism. Today, halal-certified products and services are in demand in non-Muslim-majority countries as much as in Muslim-majority ones. MIHAS reflects this diversity.

In 2024, we welcomed delegations from over 90 countries, including ASEAN partners and buyers from Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Americas. You might see a Malaysian food manufacturer discussing business with a buyer from Japan or a halal cosmetics brand from Turkey showcasing its products to distributors from the Gulf. These meetings are not just for show; they lead to real contracts and long-term partnerships.

By attending MIHAS, you won't just be browsing booths. You are entering a global marketplace where serious buyers and sellers come together to do business.

Business matching that delivers results

Finding the right business for trade partnerships can sometimes feel overwhelming. That is why we complement the showcase with structured business matching through the International Sourcing Programme (INSP).

INSP arranges pre-scheduled one-to-one meetings between Malaysian companies and international buyers. In 2024 alone, INSP facilitated engagements for over 330 buyers from 53 countries and generated RM2.53 billion in sales.

The programme is even more accessible in 2025. Meetings will take place virtually from April until 5 November and physically during the September showcase. This year’s programme aims to attract a total of 450 buyers, comprising 250 buyers for the physical session,150 for the virtual session and 50 premium buyers. Participants will also benefit from the MADANI Digital Trade Platform, which facilitates scheduling, meeting management and post-event follow-up. This combination of technology and personal interaction ensures that every connection counts.

Access across more than 14 clusters

Halal is not limited to food and beverages. MIHAS 2025 covers all clusters that reflect the diversity of the Halal economy. Exhibitors and discussions will span across Food & Beverages, Food Technology & Packaging, Halal Ingredients, Pharmaceuticals & Medicals, Education, Modest Fashion & Lifestyle, E-commerce, Retail & Franchises, Muslim-friendly Hospitality & Tourism, Services, Islamic Finance & Fintech, Media & Recreation, Cosmetics & Personal Care, and Islamic Arts & Crafts.

This diversity matters because it allows participants to discover cross-industry opportunities. For instance, a halal-certified logistics company could secure contracts with food producers and fashion exporters alike. A tourism operator could collaborate with halal food suppliers to enhance their offerings. MIHAS brings these intersections together in one place.

Backed by Malaysia’s trade ecosystem

MIHAS is organised by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) under the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry. This ensures that the showcase is not just an exhibition but part of Malaysia’s broader strategy to strengthen its role as a global Halal hub.

Government support brings credibility, structure, and resources. For participants, this means confidence that the event is designed to meet international standards, from Halal certification compliance to professional event management. It also means access to official delegations and trade representatives who can facilitate entry into new markets.

Value that justifies participation

While participating in an international showcase could be costly, MIHAS strives to remain accessible. For instance, physical participation in INSP is priced at just RM 120, which includes access to the digital trade platform, matchmaking sessions and a listing in the exhibitor directory. For businesses, this modest investment offers significant exposure and opportunities.

For visitors, the value lies in efficiency. Instead of travelling to multiple countries to meet potential partners, you can meet them all in one place over just four exciting days at MIHAS.

Why MIHAS 2025 matters for you

MIHAS has something to offer everyone, whether you are a manufacturer looking to expand exports, a buyer scouting new suppliers, an investor tracking halal market growth or a policymaker studying global trends.

It's not just about buying and selling. It's about understanding where the halal economy is heading. It is about observing innovations, from halal blockchain tracking to sustainable packaging. It is about hearing from experts at the forums and conferences held alongside the exhibition. Above all, it is about being present where the global halal community gathers.
