KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 19 — The 17th Malaysia International Halal Showcase 2020 (MIHAS 2020) has been rescheduled to Sept 1-4, 2020 from April 1-4, 2020 as a measure to safeguard the health and safety of the event’s participants and exhibitors due to concerns about the COVID-19 global outbreak.
Its organiser, the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), said the decision was made following the feedback gathered from MIHAS 2020’s exhibitors, who have expressed their wish for the iconic trade fair to be rescheduled.
“The change of date also took into account the trends of trade fairs around the world that opted to reschedule their events,” it said in a statement today.
MATRADE said it would continue to work closely with all exhibitors and visitors to ensure the success of MIHAS 2020.
Nevertheless, it said according to the Ministry of Health, the National Disaster Management Agency and various other ministries and agencies, the COVID-19 situation in Malaysia remains under control.
